The presidential primaries were tough, and not just for the candidates.
We received a terrible blow because of Florida's status as a closed-primary state that lets you vote in the primaries only if you are registered with one of the major parties. At that point, we had lost over 10% of our members to the Republicans or the Democrats.
However, thanks to the great work led by Councilman Keon Grayson and the amazing coverage of Gary Johnson and Bill Weld, we are receiving good news constantly.
You see, we entered the year with our highest numbers to date. 1,210 Miami-Dade County voters had chosen to join the Libertarian Party, but that number went down to roughly 1,050 when March 15th came.
We have been rebuilding since then. And today, we learned amazing news from the Miami-Dade County Elections Department: as of September 1st, we had gone up to 1,200 registered Libertarian voters. It means we are only 10 voters short of beating our own record and 60 short of hour annual goal.
Will you help us beat our record within the next month? You can offer us a tremendous amount of help with every single dollar you donate to us. Do it now, at LPMDade.org/Donate.
